Anni Albers (1899-1994), was a German-American textile designer, weaver, writer and printmaker who studied at the Bauhaus School of Design in Germany and was a founding faculty member of the acclaimed Black Mountain College in North Carolina. Anni and her husband Josef, the celebrated abstract painter and art educator, were pioneers of twentieth-century modernism. Anni experimented by using new materials for weaving to produce abstract designs.
The Albers Foundation, in collaboration with Christopher Farr Cloth have created a range of fabrics based on Albers' drawings and screenprints.
